Your 60-second recovery score, explained
Apr 30, 2026 · 5 min read
Stop a hard effort and watch your heart rate. A fit, well-recovered body drops it fast; a tired one lingers up high. That drop in the first 60 seconds is your heart-rate recovery.
A fall of 15–20 beats or more is a good sign — it means your parasympathetic nervous system is taking over quickly. Track the trend over weeks rather than obsessing over a single number.
GetInZone measures it automatically after every workout, so you build a history without thinking about it.
